Run staff training


From policy to practice

Once you’ve created a school policy, it’s important to make sure that it is adopted by all of the staff in your school. The best way to make this happen is to run an inclusivity INSET day in which all staff are made aware of the new policy and how to embed it in their day-to-day work.

Which session to use?

We’ve put together an LGBT+ 101 training
for you to use which fits comfortably
into 90 minutes, although can be adapted to be shorter. It’s a great starting place to make sure everyone’s on the same page in terms of LGBT+ awareness, education and inclusion.

Student voice

The most powerful element to the start of any
training session is to hear directly from your current pupils about their experience of being
LGBT+ at school. If you’d like support in helping prepare your pupils to contribute, we can help here. Alternatively, for schools in our hub areas (London, Bristol, Oxford, Manchester, Durham, Cardiff and Liverpool), you can
book in an Ambassador visit your staff training session.
